Daphne Punselie – Director, Support Coordinator

Hi, I’m Daphne, the founder of New Kompas.


I’ve been working in the disability and mental health sector since 2010, starting my career in the Netherlands in mental health support. After moving to Australia, I worked as a support worker, gaining first-hand experience supporting people with a wide range of needs.

Since 2019, I’ve been working as a Support Coordinator and Recovery Coach, supporting participants with:

My style is straightforward, practical, and honest. I don’t overcomplicate things — I focus on what needs to happen, who needs to be involved, and how we can make life easier and more stable for each participant.

Stacey Walker – Support Coordinator & Recovery Coach (Mental Health, Children & Forensic Interest)

Stacey is our specialist in mental health, children, families, and complex behavioural situations. She has a natural ability to connect with people, especially young participants who need structure, patience, and someone they can trust.

She has experience in:

On top of that, Stacey also has a strong interest in forensics, which gives her a unique perspective when working with participants involved with justice systems, high-risk behaviours, or environments where safety and structured planning are essential.

Stacey is consistent, methodical, and highly reliable. She focuses on stability, routine, and practical outcomes, and she is skilled at keeping things organised and on track for the participants she works with.

Melissa Stephenson –
Support Coordinator

Melissa is both a Support Coordinator and a Registered Nurse, bringing a very calm, steady, and clinical level of support to our team.

She has strong experience in:

Melissa is reliable, organised, and solution-focused. She supports participants through the practical side of their health and lifestyle needs while also making sure people feel heard and understood.


Her nursing background makes her an incredible asset for participants with medical complexities or higher support needs.

Amy Durham - Support Coordinator & Recovery Coach (Mental Health, Children)

Amy joined New Kompas with over 5 years of experience in disability support, with a strong focus on psychosocial disability and mental health.

She has a natural ability to connect with both adults and young people, creating safe, trusting environments where participants feel heard and understood. Amy has a genuine passion for working with children and families, particularly in complex or high-stress situations where consistency and emotional regulation support are essential.

She has experience in:

She works in a trauma-informed, person-centred way, focusing on stability, structure, and practical outcomes. Amy is calm, reliable, and highly organised, ensuring participants and families feel supported and guided — not overwhelmed.

Having previously worked as a self-employed support worker, Amy understands compliance, documentation, and the importance of professional boundaries. She brings both compassion and structure to her role.

Amy is currently completing her Life Coaching certification and plans to continue her studies with a Diploma of Mental Health, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development.

Her grounded and empathetic approach aligns beautifully with New Kompas values: respect, dignity, consistency, and strong advocacy.
